Poet’s Word had a great weekend last weekend recording two 4yo Point-to-Point winners in Monksgrange and one in Oldcastle.
1st of the three winners was a Wordfromhome who took Division 1 of the Geldings Maiden at Monksgrange ridden by Jamie Scallan for Sean Thomas Doyle and the Monbeg Partnership. Bred by Mary & Ewan Johnston from Wexford the gelding was a €65,000 Tattersalls Derby Sale Graduate from Boardsmill Stud sold to Doyle.
Heron Hill was the next winner at Monksgrange and the first of two trained by Colin Bowe taking the 2nd Division of the Geldings Maiden by eight and a half lengths owned by Milestone Bloodstock and ridden by Brian O’Neill. The gelding was bred by Paschal Keenan from Louth and was a graduate of Goffs Arkle Sales sold to Kevin Ross Bloodstock and Ben Halsall.
The last leg of the treble was taken by Goodbye Earl in Oldcastle. Trained by Bowe again, he stayed on well to take the geldings maiden by two lengths. Ridden by Bertie Flynn and owned by Milestone Bloodstock the 4yo was a Goffs Arkle Sale graduate bred by the late Barbara Beattie from Down.
Congratulations to all connections.
