Sumbal – Lots to look forward to

Sumbal has proved popular with breeders since arriving at Boardsmill in 2021. He has covered over 100 mares in each of his 1st 3 seasons here and covered 80 mares in 2024. His first Boardsmill bred crop are currently 2yo’s and will feature at next year’s store sales. Buyers of his foals to date include Kevin Ross, Peter Nolan, Ian Ferguson, Richard Rohan, John & Niall Bleahen, Jerry McGrath and many more.

Sumbal’s 1st crop 4yo’s (bred in France) numbered just nine and from only 2 runners in France in ‘23/’24 he has sired a winner and a 2nd.

DEAR WEAVER placed in the Prix d’Essai des Pouliches Hurdle in Compiegne, her total prizemoney earnings are excess than €30k.

He has a crop of twenty 3 year olds which is his first Irish Bred crop. Members of this crop are now in training with Gordon Elliott, Noel Meade, Colin Bowe, Warren Ewing and James W Doyle to name a few.

With plenty of bigger crops in the pipeline, this could be an opportune year to purchase a foal by Sumbal.
