We are proud to offer a select and strong trio of geldings by our sires at the 2021 Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale.
We start the draft with Lot 144, a homebred son of COURT CAVE with an exciting pedigree. He is a full brother to the five-year-old Call Me Lyreen (pictured above), who won the Grade 2 Fishery Lane Hurdle at Naas last season and was a member of our 2019 Derby Sale draft. They are also three-parts brothers to COURT CAVE’s Grade 2 winning hurdler and chaser Champion Court. He is bred on a variation of the hugely successful Sadler’s Wells – Darshaan cross.
Lot 187 is another Boardsmill Stud offering with a high-class pedigree as a CALIFET half-brother to Grade 2 novice chase winner and Grade 1-placed Pencilfulloflead, the only runner to date out of Quaspia. Successful on the Flat and over jumps in France, she is by Fragrant Mix and from the family of Jim Dreaper’s Grade 1 Punchestown Gold Cup winner Notre Pere, as well as Grade 2 Winner and Champion Hurdle runner-up Osana.
The third and final member of the Boardsmill Stud draft goes through the ring on Thursday as Lot 237 and is the only gelding by our stalwart sire KALANISI catalogued on Day Two of the sale. A homebred, he is a half-brother to the Paul Nicholls-trained Secret Investor, who was last seen defeating subsequent dual Grade 1 winner Clan Des Obeaux in the Grade 2 Denman Chase back in March. Their dam Silver Charmer was a Listed winner over hurdles and the family includes the brilliant two mile chaser Remittance Man.
