15th February:

  • The Lord Maid by the late MOUNT NELSON won the “Sure Haul Race Day Mares Hurdle” by 8 lengths on hurdles debut at Clonmel Racecourse for Owner/Trainer Josh Halley, Philip Enright and breeders Tom Hayes & family from Tipperary.
  • Emily’s Choice by the late KALANISI took the “Quinn Bet Mares Hurdle” on racecourse debut at Newcastle for Donald McCain, Theo Gillard and the Donald McCain Racing Club. The mare was bred by Brendan Murphy from Wexford and is a graduate of Milestone Stables, Colin Bowe.

16th February: 

  • Nab Wood by COURT CAVE takes his 2nd win on the bounce at Kelso, winning the “Full Circle Series at Punchestown Festival Hurdle” for Nicky Richards, Sean Quinlan, Owner Edward Ware and local Breeder Michael Cosgrave from Moyvalley.

17th February: 

  • A new winner for the late MOUNT NELSON as Pic Roc kept on well to win the “Ascot Shop Hurdle” at Ascot for Ben Pauling, Ben Jones and Mrs. Emma Kendall. Bred by Cian O’Doherty, the gelding was bought at Goffs Arkle sale by Highflyer Bloodstock.
  • Another 1st time out 5yo winner by the late MOUNT NELSON as Jacob’s Ladder makes a ‘favourable impression’ in the 5yo Geldings Maiden at Oldtown in the hands of Noel McParlan for Ian and Peter Buchanan. The gelding was bred by Gareth Adair from Cork and sold Tattersalls Derby Sale in 2022.
  • Giving MOUNT NELSON a third 5yo winner on the day, Boardsmill Sales graduate Flashaway leads home a 1-2 for her sire in “The Irish Stallion Farms Mares’ Bumper” at Gowran Park for Willie Mullins, Neilius O’Keeffe, Patrick Mullins and breeder Mrs. Margaret Brophy from Kilkenny. The mare was sold as a foal at Tattersalls November Sale in 2019.

18th February: 

  • Plan of Attack by COURT CAVE wins the Open at Tinahely Point to Point for Natalie Halsall and Ben Halsall, jockey Holly Dunne (her 1st winner), and breeder Claire Doyle. Purchased by Kevin Ross Bloodstock at Goffs Aintree HIT Sale in 2017 from Steven Crawford.
  • Yet ANOTHER 5yo winner by the late MOUNT NELSON as Borna Gem wins the Mares Maiden today at Tinahely for Cormac Doyle, Monbeg Farm Racing Partnership, Jack Hendrick and breeder Linda Wafer from Wicklow. The mare is a graduate of Tattersalls Derby Sale in 2022.
