Grade 2 winner for CALIFET

Cilaos Emery retained his unbeaten record over fences in impressive fashion by landing the Gr.2 Kerry Group Hilly Way Chase at Cork on Sunday last. The seven year old son of CALIFET defeated the 169 rated Ballyoisin by seven lengths in the hands of Danny Mullins and looks set for a step up to Grade 1 company for his next run over fences.

Trained by Willie Mullins for Luke McMahon, Cilaos Emery has now won 6 of his 10 career starts including the Grade 1 Champion Novice Hurdle in Punchestown as a 5 year old, where he defeated Melon. A €7,200 foal purchase at Tattersalls Ireland by Harold Kirk, Cilaos Emery has amassed almost €200,000 in prize money to date.
